1. About Us

We are Batten Door Co Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales.

We supply and install garage doors, cladding and related products for homeowners and construction companies

2. About These Terms

These Terms and Conditions set out the agreement between you (“the Customer”) and us

(“the Company”) for the supply and installation of garage doors, external cladding and related products.

Please read them carefully before placing your order. By confirming your order, you agree

to these Terms.

 

3. Quotations and Orders

All quotations are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise. Orders are only accepted

once confirmed in writing, a purchase order or a deposit has been paid. 

If changes are made after acceptance, we may revise the price and schedule. Orders are

subject to supplier availability.

 

4. Price and Payment

The price will be clearly stated in your quotation and include VAT at 20%. A deposit is required to secure the order and to start manufacturing of custom parts. Payment terms are detailed below: 

 

• 40% deposit to secure the order

• 40% payment due 2 weeks before installation 

• 20% due within 30 days of completion of the installation 

 

Payments must be made in accordance with the agreed schedule. We accept bank transfers as the primary way to pay. 

 

5. Delivery and Installation

Batten Door Co  will arrange an estimated delivery and installation date.

Delays may occur due to reasons outside our control including supplier delays, transport

issues, extreme weather, or strikes.

If such delays occur, we will inform you promptly and rearrange the work as soon as

possible. These delays will not make us legally responsible for related losses or costs.

You agree to provide clear access to the property and ensure the site is ready for

Installation on the agreed date. Risk passes on delivery, but ownership remains with us until full payment is received.

 

6. Your Right to Cancel

If you order from us, you have the right to cancel within 14 days under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

However, once we start making or ordering bespoke products for you, this right may end early. All garage doors are bespoke and will be subject to a termination in the right to cancel with the value of what has been ordered the customer responsibility. 

If you wish to cancel, please contact us in writing. If you cancel after work has started or materials have been ordered, you may be charged for costs already incurred.

 

7. Specification and Products

We will supply products matching the confirmed order description. 

We may make small technical or supplier changes that don’t affect performance or appearance significantly.

Cladding finishes may vary for batch to batch and slight colour difference between profiles can occur due to the sublimation process of the wood effect powder coated finish. Batten Door Co is not responsible for these slight changes in colour.

8. Warranty and Aftercare

Your new garage door is covered by a manufacturer’s warranty and our installation

guarantee for:

Garage doors: 

• 10 years safe function 

• 5 years for: springs, cables, rollers, hinges and return pulleys for garage doors used under normal conditionswith max. 10 door cycles (open/close) per day.

Cladding: 

• 15 years on the powder coated finish (subject to geographical location)

Installation: 

• 12 months warranty on workmanship carried out by Batten Door Co

 

Warranties are subject to cleaning and maintenance schedules which are detailed in the manufacturers terms and conditions. All warranties with manufacturers will be submitted by Batten Door Co on behalf of the customer and will be sent over to you upon completion of the final payments as part of a warranty and maintenance pack. 

 

This warranty doesn’t cover accidental damage, misuse, or work by others. If you experience a

problem, contact us promptly so we can inspect and repair or replace as appropriate.

 

9. Your Responsibilities

You must ensure access to the site, a safe working area and that any required preparatory work (e.g., electrics or structure) is complete. Where scaffold is required, this is the responsibility of the customer and all costs incurred unless access is part of Batten Door Co’s scope of works. 

If we cannot carry out work because the site is not ready, we may need to reschedule and there will be a charge for the time incured. The charge is valued at the day rate of the staff on site plus mileage. 

 

10. Our Liability

We will carry out all work with reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for delays caused by factors beyond our control (including supplier delays).

We are not responsible for losses not caused by our fault or for business losses. Nothing limits our liability for death, injury, or fraud.

 

11. Complaints and Disputes

We aim to resolve all issues quickly and fairly. Please contact us if you have a complaint. 

If we cannot resolve a dispute, you can seek advice from Citizens Advice. 

 

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales and any disputes will be

dealt with by the English courts.
